Scope and content

This volume contains 399 cases, although the index states that there were 398 deaths and 315 post mortem examinations. The index is signed by Cyril Ogle, Dec 31 1894. Some of the pages in this volume have been renumbered by hand. Cases in the index have been listed in the order of the renumbered pages. They have been digitised in the order that they appear in the index rather than in the original page order. When cases continue over multiple pages the doctor has sometimes used the original page number in their cross-reference, but item level descriptions give the actual number on which the rest of the case details can be found. PM/1894/7 and PM/1894/8, related to patients Henry Dunkel/Runkel [?] and Edwin Clayfield, are in the reverse order within the post mortem cases to the order in which they are listed in the index. Some information from PM/1894/210 related to the date admitted and the hospital register number has been mistakenly placed in PM/1894/211 and vice versa
