Medical notes: 'History. Diaphoresis habitually very profuse: fat productive of nausea: He had drunk enormously, but irregularly, of beer and spirits. D.T.[Delirium Tremens?] on two occasions. Five years before admn [admission], cough began gradually, continued ever since being severe at times. Shortly after it began he fell into an area: was insensible for 5 minutes and fractured his clavicle. While laid up with the fracture he had two[?] 'fits': nature unknown. Five other fits at one time 3 or 3 ½ yrs [years] later. Twenty eight days before admission he was struck in the epigastrium by the pole of a dray: the pain was severe: at St Thos' Hosp [St Thomas' Hospital] he was told he had fractured some lower R. [Right] ribs: strapping and bandage were applied, and retained till admn [admission] to St Geo [St George's Hospital]'
