Medical notes: The illness began last March with shortness of breath and oedema of the hands and feet. He had been treated as a heart case at University College Hospital. A few weeks ago he had a cerebral attack with more or less loss of consciousness, which was succeeded by partial blindness, perception of light being retained.
Body parts examined in the post mortem: Tongue, tonsils, thymus, thyroid, larynx, trachea, pleurae, lungs, bronchial glands, pulmonary artery, pericardium, heart, coronary arteries, aorta, peritoneum, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, splenic artery, suprarenals, kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, stomach, small intestine, appendix and colon
