Disease (transcribed): Phthisis pulmonalis. Pleuritis with sero-purulent effusion on left side. Old adhesions on right side. Very large vomicae containing pus. Old peritonitis in region of spleen. Mesenteric glands universally enlarged. Ulcers of small and large intestines. Scrofulous ulceration of mucous membrane of uterus. Large coagula with pus in their interior blocked up the iliac and femoral arteries in left side, having produced oedema of lung during life.

Medical notes: This patient was admitted suffering from cough and dyspnoea, and general anasarca. She stated that she was quite well about three weeks ago, when the catamenia ceased rather suddenly and she began to cough and expectorate and to suffer from pain in the chest.
