Medical notes: 'This woman was a widow. She had borne 4 children. Twenty or more years before her death she had ‘pleurisy and congestion of the right lung'. In March 1890 she had influenza and ‘pleurisy' again on the right side. She kept her bed for the greater part of 6 months, and never regained her original health. For the last 6 months she had been kept upon low diet on account of rheumatic pains, and to this she attributed her pallor and thinness. She was liable to epistaxis'
