Medical notes: The illness began a month ago with headache and vomiting, followed in a week by a right hemiplegia, which practically cleared up under treatment. Ten days ago she had another apoplectiform fit followed in a few hours by a right hemiplegia, since when she had been in a state of stupur, with lately difficulty in swallowing and incontinence of urine and faeces. She had syphilis eight years ago.
