Medical notes: 'No history of heritable disease. When living (at 25) in 1834 when living near Richmond, Yorkshire on high ground near no malarious district, she had 'cholera', severe fever with deliriusm and diarrhoea. Ever since then she has been liable to frequent attacks of diarrhoea with much abdominal pain. For the last two years the diarrhoea has been less constant but more severe, and during the year before last has been accompanied by vomiting & severe abdominal pain with flatus'
