Typhoid at 22: rheumc [rheumatic] fever at 27: bronchs [Bronchitis] in 1874 and in April 1878: Subject to coughs and sore throats: diaphoresis habitually profuse. Catam [Catamenia] regular: ended at Xmas 1876. Quite well till 12 days before admn [admission], when she was upset by an interview with an expected employer. In the evening she had two loose motions. Next day or the day after, pain appeared under the R. [Right] scapula, not noticeably affected by food. Nine days before admn [admission] it shifted to the L. [Left] scapula and from that time it steadily increased in severity: very severe for 5 days before admn [admission]. On the 28th as soon as she got out of bed she found her feet numb, and the lower part of her stomach jarred when she struck it'
