Medical notes: 'This patient was admitted with fits of an epileptic character, occurring about every two minutes. It was reported that epilepsy was common in the family, and that one of her brothers, as also one of her sisters, had suffered severely from it. This patient was attacked for the first time three days before admission, and when first seen by the medical man, it was judged advisable to bleed her’
