Medical notes: The patient was admitted last November with symptoms and signs of Reynaud’s disease and also ‘sciatica’ on the left side. Since his discharge he had become weaker and lost about 18 stone in weight. Two months ago he began to experience sharp pains in the hepatic region, right side of abdomen, back and left thigh.
Body parts examined in the post mortem: Pleurae, lungs, larynx and trachea, heart, abdomen, liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, urinary tract, alimentary canal, stomach and intestines
