Medical notes: 'This old man was a gardener by trade & while nailing up a vine, the ladder on which he was standing, slipped, & he fell from a height of about 20 feet on to the ground. It does not appear that his foot was twisted at all when he fell. He was carefully examined when brought in to the hospital’
