Medical notes: 'This patient stated herself to have been ill only 6 or 7 weeks. She had been suffering from pain in the abdomen with some degree of swelling, and she supposed herself dropsical, as the urine had been scanty & high-coloured. During this time her chief complaint had been of loss of appetite, and feelings of dyspepsia’
