The accident occurred at 2pm on the 2nd of April. He was perfectly sober at the time, when picked up was not insensible. He was carried home & attended by a medical man in Westminster who found him palsied in the lower extremities’

He was of strumous aspect & stated by his mother to have always been a feeble, delicate child, & it appears from her account that for upwards of three years he had suffered from lameness, pain in the hip & knee & other symptoms of chronic disease of the left hip’
