Not wholly unconscious: - he rubbed his face where a fly settled on it, resisted the introduction of a catheter etc. Once he opened his eyes when addressed by name. Paralysis of R. [Right] arm and leg, with loss, but not total, of reflex movements. No distortion of face as he lay, but no reflex movements of R. [Right] side could be obtained, though marked ones on L. [Left] reflex movements of R. [Right] eyelids less than L. [Left]. Pupils contracted closely. […] History. An old friend stated that he spent the evening before admission at her house. About 8.30 he became very excited, and continued so till he left, complaining also of headache. At 9 he vomited and complained of epigastric pains'
