Medical notes: 'The man was one of the mounted police. Served in Cyprus & also in Egypt where had had 'fever'. Always very abstemious. He was found insensible in a stable & afterwards explained that his horse had first reared & struck him on the face with his fore-hoofs & knocked him down'
