During the 9 years he had had about 12 attacks, lasting from 3-4 weeks. The pain came on 3 hours after food and was relieved by vomiting. Early in November, the pain and vomiting recurred. On [December] 12, he vomited about Oiss [1.5 pints] of coffee ground material, ¼ hour after taking some warm milk'
