Medical notes: He had been an inpatient at the Hospital six months ago complaining of a stabbing pain in the left side with difficulty in breathing. While in hospital a swelling began to form in the left side of the abdomen. An exploratory laparotomy was performed and as soon as the tumour was found to be the spleen, the wound was sewn up.
