Otherwise he had had good health. There was nothing noteworthy in his family history. His last illness is said to have been of 2 months duration, rather worse during the last 6 wks [weeks], at first he had shooting pains inside which settled about 3 wks [week]s ago in the R. [Right] side, and had been very acute for 8 days before admission, during which time he had laid up. No rigors or vomiting. Bowel constipated, motions white since Apl [April] 29th'
