Medical notes: 'William Power was in good health on Thursday, July 7th: His mother work up at 2 a.m. on July 8th, and found the child vomiting: the vomiting continued, with diarrhoea, until 8 a.m. when she brought him up to the Hospital. At 7.15 a.m. he had a fit, the eyes remaining fixed and the limbs stiff for 15 minutes. The child was born after a prolonged labour, no instruments were used. It was breast fed, and never had diarrhoea. It is the youngest of 3 children, the other two being healthy: the mother says that she 'suffers with her chest'. Mother – aet- 24'
