Medical notes: This woman was admitted unconscious with right sided hemiplegia. For ten years she had suffered from acromegaly, the only features that are lacking being normal were the visual fields and almost normal thumbs.

Medical notes: Ten weeks before admission the patient had pain in the abdomen after dinner. A week later he became jaundiced and the urine was a dark colour.

The post mortem contains a report by humphry davy rolleston ‘primary carcinoma of the ampulla of vater with report of a case presenting some features of interest’
