It was suckled for 12 months. For the last 6 months of its life it had been ‘out to nurse'. Until 3 weeks before death it had been under the charge of a person who was said to have neglected it grossly. It was then transferred to better care, being in a very emaciated and lousy state. For a fortnight it improved, but then began to lose flesh again'
