Medical notes: For fifteen months of the time she had been in London she had never menstruated. The catamenia then suddenly appeared and lasted a fortnight, She had no further discharge until a fortnight before admission when she again menstruated. This was accompanied by a headache, feeling of languor and weakness. Her behaviour became more strange and she took dislike to various articles of furniture in the house.
