Medical notes: About Christmas 1852 he strained himself in throwing a stone and afterwards felt pain in the right side of his chest which extended down the right arm. In June 1853 he came to the Hospital and left relieved until ten weeks before readmission when he stated that breathing was so difficult that he could never lie down.
