The back of the volume includes case notes from the following year (1888) on pages 394-417, inserted in this volume due to lack of space in that volume. These have been catalogued as part of PM/1888 (cases PM/1888/451-PM/1888/468)
In this year there were 365 post mortem examinations and 6 only partially performed. In 75 cases no post mortem was made. The volume is signed by H.D. Rolleston, Curator, Dec 21 1890
The volume contains 461 deaths, 255 post mortem examinations and 5 partial post mortem examinations. The volume is signed by H.D. Rolleston, Curator, Dec 31 1891
This volume contains 399 cases, although the index states that there were 398 deaths and 315 post mortem examinations. The index is signed by Cyril Ogle, Dec 31 1894. Some of the pages in this volume have been renumbered by hand. Cases in the index have been listed in the order of the renumbered pages. They have been digitised in the order that they appear in the index rather than in the original page order. When cases continue over multiple pages the doctor has sometimes used the original page number in their cross-reference, but item level descriptions give the actual number on which the rest of the case details can be found. PM/1894/7 and PM/1894/8, related to patients Henry Dunkel/Runkel [?] and Edwin Clayfield, are in the reverse order within the post mortem cases to the order in which they are listed in the index. Some information from PM/1894/210 related to the date admitted and the hospital register number has been mistakenly placed in PM/1894/211 and vice versa
This volume contains 425 cases. PM/1897/425 lists the number of deaths and post mortem examinations in 1897. There were 425 deaths and 258 post mortem examinations. 19 of the post mortems for cases in this volume are referred to as having been conducted at Ebury Bridge, Horseferry Road or St Martins Church. These seem to have been mortuaries that were used as locations for St George's Hospital to do its post mortems between August and October 1897. The reason for the Hospital to have used these mortuaries is suggested in PM/1897/415 in which a note in the post mortem says '1st PM [Post Mortem] in new Post Mortem Room, Dec. [December] 24 1897', implying that the post mortem room was either being renovated or moving prior to this date. Several of the case notes have been signed by F.J. This seems to have been Francis Jaffrey who appears elsewhere in the volume and was the surgical registrar in 1897.
In 1898 there were 404 deaths and 309 post mortem examinations. The volume is signed by Walter Sydney Lazarus-Barlow, Curator. Cases 406 onwards are included in the index of the post mortem book for 1899
The index contains 465 cases, however, the volume includes only 451 cases. PM/1899/453-PM/1899/461 and PM/1899/465 appear in the 1898 volume as PM/1898/407-PM/1898/419. PM/1899/462 (Kathleen Morris) and PM/1899/463 (William Roberts) in the index appear in the 1900 volume as PM/1900/1 and PM/1900/2. A note in the index states that 335 post mortem examinations took place in 1899
The volume contains 423 cases. PM/1900/1 (Kathleen Morris) and PM/1900/2 (William Roberts) are included in the index of the 1899 volume as PM/1899/462 and PM/1899/463
The volume contains 419 deaths, 262 full post mortem examinations and 18 partial post mortem examinations. The volume is signed by W. J. Fenton, Curator
In this year there were 363 deaths, 252 complete autopsies, 19 partial autopsies and 92 cases not examined. The volume is signed by William James Fenton, Curator
