Medical notes: The only history which could be obtained of this man was that he was out walking, and feeling uncomfortable and dizzy, went into a ‘Doctor’s Shop’ and asked for a black draught. Before that could be prepared, the dizziness increased, and he fell down in a fit which was soon followed by paralysis of the right side.
