Medical notes: 'This child was admitted with considerable ascites, & general anasarca. It did not appear that she had had scarlet fever. It was stated that she had a fever last autumn, but it was not accompanied by any eruption, and that her present illness had commenced last Xmas with diarrhoea which had continued to the time of her admission’
