Surbiton pupil nurse registers

Registers relating to pupil nurses at Surbiton General Hospital. The registers take various formats, but generally record the following information: name, date of birth, index number, address, next of kin, previous training, date of preliminary training school, and date of assessment/completion. Additional typed pages listing dates of ward experience have been taped in, and later items of correspondence relating to references have been inserted.

The date ranges of the volumes are as follows:

Sep 1961 – Oct 1968
Jan 1965 – Sep 1972 ['Nurses in Training' – attendance register with details of lectures/study days]
Oct 1968 – Apr 1973
Jan 1972 – Sep 1974
May 1974 – Sep 1975

Wimbledon and Nelson training record binders

Four binders of student nurse training records, separated with alphabetical dividers. The records vary in form: those in the first volume include only name, age, dates of ward experience and leave, and dates of exam passes and any prizes; those in the remaining volumes also include address, index number, next of kin, religion, and remarks (but omit the ward experience details).

The date ranges of the volumes are as follows:

1940-1960 [note that this binder is in a larger format than the other three]
1940-1969 [though label on spine incorrectly states 'to Dec 1961']

Epsom student nurse registers

Two registers of students at the Epsom School of Nursing (with date ranges 1950-1968 and 1969-1971), containing the following information: name, address, date/place of birth, registration/index number, and dates of training/assessment.

Document produced by the architectural firm Watkins Gray with the full title 'New Teaching Hospital and Associated Medical, Dental and Pre-clinical Schools at Tooting, SW17 for the Board of Governors, St George's Hospital, SW1: Phasing and Allocation of Expenditure' (Jun 1966) containing projected costs (broken down into three phases) of building the new hospital.

Typed and annotated lecture notes (stamped 'Kingston County Hospital, Kingston-on-Thames') on nursing subjects, including artificial feeding, bedmaking, baths, enemas, etc.

Slides

Plastic slide box containing 17 colour slides – apparently a commercially produced set – of patients in hospital beds (each image numbered and labelled with the patient's condition), and a further two slides of diagrams of the human heart (labelled 'St James' Hospital Photographic Department').

Note that the St James' slides were originally loose in the collection, but have been added to this slide box by the archivist for convenience of storage: no direct connection with the other slides should be inferred.
