Medical notes: She was an Inpatient in 1926 under Sir Crisp English with symptoms of gall stone colic. Her general condition was thought to contra indicate surgical treatment. Since her discharge she had had ten to fifteen similar attacks, the last, which was a month ago, being particularly severe. She was referred to Dr. Torrens, who thought that owing to the frequency of the attacks, operation was justifiable, although the risk was great. Operated on by Sir Crisp English who removed three stones and drained the gall bladder. The patient became very bronchitic after the operation and died five days later.
