Medical notes: 'SR [Surgical egister] 2854/21. History. Vomiting, loss of appetite and marked loss of weight 6 months. 9.12.21. Laparotomy Mr Pendlebury. Carcinoma lesser curvature of stomach under pylorus. Glands felt in great and lesser omentum, and metastases, deposits in head of pancreas. Posterior Gastro Enterostomy performed. Pt [Patient] recovered from the operation, but abdomen gradually became distended with fluid. This was tapped several times, but Pt. [Patient] died. 18.4.22'

Medical notes: 'History: She was previously admitted 5 months ago M.R. [Medical Register] 861/'21 with a years history of abdominal pain. There was a mass in the R.I.F. [Right iliac fossa]. A laparotomy was made and the caecum containing a growth was excised and an anastomosis made between ileum and colon. She remained fairly well for some weeks and then the pain returned with occasional vomiting. For the past 5 days she had vomited everything and had been completely constipated. On admission: 17/3/'22. Cachectic. The abdomen was greatly distended. There was visible peristalsis and a mass to the rt. [right] of laparotomy scar'
