For the past year the sputum had been very copious and offensive to the taste, and was brought up in great quantities of a morning. Her general health had been fairly well maintained until 6 months before the present time; she then had a miscarriage, which left her weakened and with a worse cough. On June 22nd she was seized with pain in the R. [Right] chest, made worse on deep inspiration, but this pain has now vanished. She had noted deformity of the fingers and wrists for a long time, and attributed it to washing up things in water. Occasionally she had headache: there were no indications of brain-abscess.
