Medical notes: The patient had ‘fever in the head’ when fifteen months old, followed by ‘rickets’, inflamed tonsils, bronchitis on three occasions and a squint for one year. She was ‘quite well’ until the evening of December 3rd when she screamed a good deal and frequently put her hand to her head and forehead.
