  • letter relaying a message from Lady Canning that 'no more nurses are required at present in the East', 19 Jul 1855 [enclosed in card frame]
  • letter to Dr C. B. N. Dunn, requesting that he intervene with the overseer of a mill so that a girl who works there might be relieved of 'stooping work', and complaining about an uncooperative servant, 3 Nov 1880
  • letter to 'Messrs Mitchell' complaining about the quality of white bread ['it has often been not baked enough: quite pale-faced the crust'], 21 Oct 1885
  • Christmas greeting to a Miss Dr Macdonald, 26 Dec 1893
