Medical notes: 'The patient was first in the hospital two months ago - He gave a history of gradually increasing weakness and enlarged glands all over the body - These were present on his admission - He was anaemic and breathless - The lungs were then free - Under arsenic the patient got better and the glands decreased in size - though occasionally he had an attack of laryngeal dyspnoea - He was sent to Wimbledon [...] and was readmitted here on Sept 26th - The glands had grown, particularly in the neck'
