Medical notes: 'This man was a baker but since April 1891 he had not worked, having been laid up at that time by severe illness in some hospital or infirmary. In June he was able to walk away and was lost sight of by his relations. On the day of his death he spent some hours lying upon the grass in Hyde Park in the company of a casual acquaintance. He complained of feeling unwell, and in particular had no appetite. While on the grass he blacked his own and his companions boots and made a slight alteration in his dress. Upon rising to go, having walked a very few years, he fell to the ground with a cry of pain, pressing his hands to the front of the chest. He became ‘black as jet' in the face and died very speedily, before he could be brought to this hospital'
