Subscriber to St George's Hospital in 1856. An advocate for scientific racism and social Darwinism. He coined the term eugenics in 1883, and produced studies on the inheritance of intelligence. Galton was the honorary president of the Eugenics Education Society which was responsible for the publication of the Eugenics Review and the International Congress of Eugenics.

Although Galton said he was at one time student at St George's, his name does not appear in the student registers.

Reports of the Royal Commission on Secondary Education' (1895).

Married and moved from London to Eastbourne; died in Tunbridge Wells.
