Disease (transcribed): Lungs congested with lobular grey hepatisation. Slight pleurisy on both sides. Heart dilated, pale & very thin. Slight peritonitis. Patches of lymph in spleen which was congested. Cyst, containing foul suppuration in cellular tissue of fallopian tube

Medical notes: 'This patient was admitted complaining of occasional vomiting, & constant nausea of some months’ duration, of pains in all her limbs, and of pain in the left hypochondriac region, of occasional palpitation, & a slight hacking cough. Her sister stated that these symptoms had existed several months, & her medical man had uniformly told her that they were hysterical’
