Medical notes: The patient was admitted in a insensible state. He had been found by a man lying in the Uxbridge Road and was taken by a Policeman to a surgeon in the neighbourhood. He was treated and then brought to the hospital. There was no one who knew anything about him nor any reason for suspecting he had been drinking. He was unconscious and muttering incoherent sentences. The left area and elbow were bruised and extensively swollen with effused blood.
Body parts examined in the post mortem: Cranium, thorax and abdomen. The examination of the body was objected to by the friends, but performed by the house surgeon at the order of the coroner.
