Disease (transcribed): Scrofulous deposit in the spinal cord, & in the substance of the brain. Cretaceous mass in left lung. Other thoracic & abdominal viscera healthy. Abscess in pelvic cavity communicating with the bladder & rectum

Medical notes: 'Six weeks previous to his admission, this boy, who lived by tramping the country and often slept out in the open air and had always lived badly, experienced gradual loss of power in his arms & legs and in about a week he was unable to stand. At first he felt little or no pain but in about another week he had great pain in the back of his neck which sometimes extended into his arms’
