Medical notes: 'Patient had been subject to frequent attacks of cold[?] 'Rheumatism', but had had no previous illness and generally fair health. There was nothing noteworthy in the family history. […] Present illness. Cough and shortness of breath 4-5 months , but never had any haemoptysis, or haematemesis. He had lost much flesh, and complained of pain all over the chest on exertion'
