Medical notes: 'This man was a general labourer. In May 1890 he was an inmate of this hospital under Mr Haward [John Warrington Haward] on account of a carbuncle on the back. At 2am on Jan 22nd he was found by a policeman in Hyde Park lying on the ground and unable to stand but able to speak. He smelt strongly of alcohol and was taken to the police station. About 9am it was found that he had become unconscious, and being seen now for the first time by the divisional surgeon he was soon afterwards sent to St George's
